Feedback from other Professional Dance Experience Courses:

“Once again my son has loved every moment of the ballet week, its especially nice to see him mixing with the other boys as this is rare for him at dance school being surrounded by girls.  His strength is improving and we’re still working on the “limbering”.  Sign him up for next year please!”

(Liz Jackson, Huddersfield)

"My daughter has had an amazing experience and enjoyed every minute, she came home with beaming smiles. It has given her an amazing experience and an insight of a professional dancer.  Thank you so much for giving my daughter the opportunity to live her dream for the week."

(Claudine Dwyer, Guildford).

"Starting with the performance, absolutely brilliant! I have seen my daughters confidence grow even more. The week has been an amazing experience for her and I can’t wait for her to come back next year and not alone but with a friend to whom I will highly recommend. Thank you."

(Shelley Fernandes, Chertsey).

"Thanks so much for all the work you and the rest of the team put into the Summer Course, my son had an amazing time and learnt so much. He said that he thought the quality of the teaching was brilliant and that you all took a genuine interest in correcting him and helping him. We were also really impressed with the show of work.

He would definitely be interested in the course next year! I have passed on information about how good he has found it to a dance teacher friend of mine and will also be recommending the course to others at his local dance school. Thank you".

(Claire Newman, Somerset).

“Both of my daughters have thoroughly enjoyed the summer course.  They both found it structured and challenging which is exactly what we were looking for. The organisation of timetables and communication is superb.  My husband and I were both bowled over by the standard and content of the end of week presentation.  Money well spent and completely worth it.  Many thanks to all involved.”

(Helen Firth - Halifax)

“This is my daughters 2nd year doing the summer course.  Once again she had a fantastic time and has improved so much. The quality of teaching second to none and every child given a chance to perform on stage. She will be counting down till the next one. Thank you to all who put the course together, it was great!”

(Tracy Horwell - Leeds)

"Very well organised course with inspiring team whose roles each contributed different aspects of ballet.  Good structure to week, offering insight and depth to the creative process and a very impressive show to parents at the end. My daughter loved the course, learned many things, enjoyed working in a new and more professionally connected way. She liked the other students, some of similar ability and some to whom she can aspire. I only wish she could gain this sort of experience more often - such an opportunity for personal growth. Thank you"

(Tim Boulton).

The Christmas Ballet Workshops are an exciting new opportunity for primary school aged children. The day is split into 3 Workshops to allow the children to work with students of similar age and ability. Parents are invited to watch the final 15 minutes of the Workshop that their child is attending.

The students will take part in a structured ballet class appropriate to their level, delivered by ex-professional ballet dancers. The class work is non-syllabus and will allow the younger students to learn new and exciting steps. The older students will be able to build on their knowledge of dance and improve their ballet technique. The students will also learn about different stories from famous ballets in an informative and interactive way, supported by musical resources and props. The students will also have the opportunity to learn dances from different ballets, culminating in an informal sharing for parents at the end of the Workshop.

There is no audition to attend the Christmas Ballet Workshops and all students of primary school age are welcome to attend. We recommend that the students are already attending regular dance classes, however there is no minimum grade or level required so if you think your child will enjoy this experience we would love to welcome them to the day.

In order to give the best possible experience to the students there are a limited number of places available so we recommend that you book your place today.

Kimberley started dancing at the age of three at The Classical Ballet Centre in Chippenham, Wiltshire before going on to train at The Royal Ballet School for 8 years. As a student, she performed with the Royal Ballet in various ballets including The Nutcracker, Manon and Sleeping Beauty at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Kimberley also has a talent for choreography and won The Ursula Moreton Choreographic Competition as a second year student at the Upper School.

After graduating, Kimberley gained a contract with Ballet Ireland where she quickly took on soloist roles and performed all over Ireland and the UK. A highlight of her career was performing as ‘Juliet’ in Romeo and Juliet at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Kimberley also performed as the lead in La Sylphide at a gala performance in London, hosted by the American Artist Karen Kilimnik. She then went on to perform with English National Ballet in Derek Deane’s Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall, The Palace of Versailles and also at The Princess Diana Concert at Wembley.

Kimberley’s talent for teaching was spotted at an early age. Whilst still a student, she was invited to work as an assistant teacher at The Royal Ballet School International Summer School for two consecutive years. This ignited her desire to teach and following her performing career Kimberley retrained as a teacher, gaining the Royal Academy of Dance Professional Dancer’s Teaching Diploma with distinction.

In 2008 Kimberley was offered a full time teaching post as a Lecturer in Ballet Technique at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance, a Higher Education College in Leeds. Kimberley has been a year co-ordinator at NSCD, has worked as a rehearsal director, taught private and group coaching sessions and has also taught as part of the audition panel in the U.K and Europe.

Kimberley joined Professional Dance Experience full time as the Director of Courses and Ballet Associates Principal in 2014. Since then she has helped a number of our Ballet Associate students successfully audition for further training at vocational dance schools. Kimberley has also been responsible for the development and running of the Professional Dance Experience Summer, Easter and Christmas Courses and in 2016 she created the Youth Ballet Theatre. Kimberley is invited by many local dance schools to deliver Ballet Masterclasses including exam preparation and pointe work technique. Through her website, www.tipsonballettechnique.com Kimberley helps ballet students and teachers across the world to improve their ballet technique with downloadable videos and DVDs.
